HARVARD ASKED STUDENTS TO LEAVE DORMS AND TAKE COURSES ONLINE

Harvard University has asked students to leave their dorms by Sunday, March 15 2020. This decision comes “in an effort to de-densify our community” the university’s spokeswoman told CNN. Courses and meetings will be held online starting from March 23.

This decision comes in response to the coronavirus outbreak and aims to minimize the risk of infection, especially after the number of infected people in the U.S reached 735 cases.

The email sent by Lawrence S. Bacow, the President of Hardvard University said: “To our students, I know it will be difficult to leave your friends and your classrooms. We are doing this not just to protect you but also to protect other members of our community who may be more vulnerable to this disease than you are.”
